Excite News For August
| | | | | The American Indoor Soccer League’s Cincinnati Excite has been working hard in the off-season to make the team’s fourth season in the “Queen City” the best ever. Here are some news and notes of what the team has been up to:
First, fans who attend Excite home games at the Game Time Training Center this winter might just find it to be a “tasty” proposition, as the team has teamed up with Busken Bakeries for the new “Busken Baker’s Dozen” promotion. Should the Excite score thirteen goals in any one home game, all fans attending that game will receive a coupon for a free donut from any Busken location. A Cincinnati-area landmark since 1926, Busken has 21 locations throughout the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Busken has regularly won many “Taste of Cincinnati” awards and was recently named a “Hall of Fame Bakery for Cincinnati”.
In addition, team owner Dave Galus has announced that the team will be delaying the start date of the Excite Premier League until August 22nd to allow for any players currently playing in the United Soccer League to participate in the league, which will act as a showcase for local players who wish to try out for this season’s Excite team.
Players who wish to participate in the Premier League must be registered with the Excite no later than Friday, August 17th. Players will be assigned to teams on August 20th, with play beginning on the 22nd.
