Ignition Scorch Rampage 11-2 in Fort Wayne

In the first pre-season game of the 2007-08 American Indoor Soccer League campaign, the Detroit Ignition of the Major Indoor Soccer League hammered the Rockford Rampage 11-2 at the Plex Sports Center in Fort Wayne, IN this afternoon.

The Rampage were without several of their key players, including ‘keeper Dimitri Meletis, Radu Giurgiu, and 2006-07 AISL Most Valuable Player Bato Radoncic.

Kit Selaidopolous and Hewerton led the Ignition in scoring with two goals each.

Mike Rigas scored both goals for the Rampage.

Ante “the Law” Cop played 45 minutes in goal for the Rampage, making 15 saves. Danny Waltman played 45 minutes in goal for the Ignition, making just 5 saves. The two ‘keepers swapped teams for the final quarter.

The Rampage will open their 2007-08 season on November 3rd, when they face the Cincinnati Excite at the Game Time Training Center in Fairfield, OH. The club will open at home on November 17th when they christen the new Victory Sports Center when they host the defending AISL champion Massachusetts Twisters.
