Excite Dominate Peruvian All-Stars in Exhibition Game Tonight

In a solid all-around effort, the Cincinnati Excite tonight defeated a Peruvian All-Star squad 7-1 at the Game Time Training Center in the American Indoor Soccer League club’s final tune-up for the 2007-08 season.

A portion of the proceeds from tonight’s game will be donated to the recovery efforts working to help those who were affected by last summer’s earthquake in Peru.

Jack Cummings, coming off a successful season as a member of the USL’s Cleveland City Stars, led the Excite inscoring with four goals. Marcel Matis contributed two goals and Craig Rhodis chipped in a goal in the winning effort.

Julio Falconi, who plays for the Excite during the season, scored the only tally for the Peruvian All-Star selection.

The Excite jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the hlaf, and never looked back. Jim Adams started the game in goal, playing the first quarter. Zac Van Frank played the second and third quarter, and rookie Lance Uffer played the final fifteen minutes. Uffer allowed the only tally, as Falconi’s goal with six minutes gone in the final frame was the only smudge on the night for the Excite.

The Excite will open their 2007-08 season next Saturday night at 7:30PM when they host the Rockford Rampage at the Game Time Training Center (530C Quality Blvd in Fairfield). For ticket information, contact the Excite at (513) 682-1117.
