Rebels Welcome Dr. Benjamin Hasan as Team Physician
The American Indoor Soccer League’s Northern Illinois Rebels announced today that Benjamin Hasan, MD has joined the club as team physician and sponsor for the 2007-08 season.
Dr. Hasan received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Following his residency training in Family Practice, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at MacNeal Hospital and Rush University. He has taught Family Medicine and Sports Medicine extensively in the Chicago area and has volunteered on the sidelines for local, regional, national, and world events in football, soccer, road racing, Olympic speed skating, wrestling, basketball, triathlon, duathlon, rugby, team synchronized skating, hockey, and track and field. He is Board Certified in Family Practice with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He is currently the Director of Sports Medicine and a full-time core faculty member for the UIC/Illinois Masonic Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program in Chicago. He teaches and practices Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, seeing patients every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in his office. Dr. Hasan is a Team Physician for Niles West High School in Skokie, USA Triathlon, USA Soccer, the Chicago Marathon, and DePaul University. His professional interests include the treatment of orthopedic injuries and conditions as well as other medical aspects of sport and exercise. His hobbies include running, coaching basketball, playing rock music, and water-skiing. His wife, Vicki Chamberlain, MD, is in private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Arlington Heights. They have three active children who play soccer.
The Rebels will return to the field this Saturday night, when they travel to Springfield, MA to take on the defending AISL champion Massachusetts Twisters at 6:30PM CST. They will return to the Lake County Sports Center on Sunday, January 6th at 3:00PM when they will host the Twisters.
