AISL Weekend Update-Rockford Enjoys "Joy of Six", Twisters Win Second Straight
| |  | | | It was a cold weekend across the AISL, but there was some hot soccer action in both Rockford and Massachusetts as the league begins the holiday break.
In Rockford, the Rampage keep rumbling along, as they set a new league record with their sixth straight win, as they defeated the Northern Illinois Rebels 10-3 at the Victory Sports Complex in Loves Park.
Novi Marojevic had another strong performance, as he led the Rampage (6-0) with a one-point goal, a two-point goal, and an assist in the winning effort. Bato Radoncic had two one-pointers, as did Zlatko Zebic.
Boris Maric, Mavtin Ibarra, and Marcelo Abayay each scored a one-pointer for the Rebels (1-4).
Dimitri Meletis took the win in goal for the Rampage, and Alex Flores was saddled with the loss.
At the "Big E" in Springfield last night, the Massachusetts Twisters won their second game of the season with a 7-4 victory over the Cincinnati Excite in front of a crowd of 886, who braved snow and cold temperatures to see the victory.
Kyle Texiera tied the game for the Twisters (2-3) with a two-pointer with five minutes remaining, and Everson Maciel would score the eventual game-winner.
