Revs Announce 2007-08 Opening Night Roster
| | | | | Adam Mellor, president of the American Indoor Soccer League’s Tulsa Revolution, announced this afternoon the roster for the team’s inaugural season, which will kick off next Saturday night at Soccer City Tulsa, when the Revs will host the Cincinnati Excite.
“I think that coaches Kerry Shubert and Tama Aondofar have developed a solid roster which will represent us well in our inaugural season,” said Mellor. “We’ve selected a group of players that will represent our core values of hard work, tenacity, and skill which will give a good showing this winter and beyond.”
The 22-man roster features not only a core of players from the Tulsa and Green Country area, but will have players from such exotic ports of call as Brazil, Zaire, Nigeria, Laos, Liberia, and Bolivia.
Two of those Nigerian natives, Christopher Justice and Garba Lawal, represented their country on the international stage. Lawal was also a member of the Nigerian team that won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
The Revolution will open their 2007-08 AISL campaign on January 5th at 7:30PM when they host the Cincinnati Excite at Soccer City Tulsa. Tickets for the game are now on sale through the team office, and will be available at Soccer City on game night.
