Unsuccessful Trip To Illinois Ends For Twisters With 10-3 Loss to Rebels
) Last weekend’s excursion to Illinois would definitely not be one that coach Rob Libera and the Massachusetts Twisters would like to remember, as they would drop their second straight game in the Land of Lincoln, dropping a 10-3 result to the Northern Illinois Rebels yesterday afternoon at the Lake County Sports Center.
Boris Maric led the scoring for the Rebels, bagging his first career hat trick, which was also the first hat trick in team history. Rafael Berretta and Sinisa Alebic each scored twice, and Javi Torres, Marvin Ibarra, and Alex Pavon each added a goal of their own.
Three players each scored once for the Twisters in the losing effort.
Ahmad “Tommy” Hassan got the win in goal for the Rebels after another strong effort. Paul Dellostritto took the loss for the Twisters.
The Rebels will return to the pitch next Saturday night at 7:30PM EST when they head to Cincinnati to face the Excite at the Game Time Training Center. The Twisters will have next weekend off.
